Bystronic presents automated sheet metal processing solutions at EuroBLECH
by David Fleschen
Swiss machinery manufacturer Bystronic presented integrated laser cutting, bending and tube processing technologies at EuroBLECH 2026, held in Hanover, Germany, from October 20 to 23.
The company's exhibition focused on connecting production equipment, material handling systems and software to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce manual operations. The technologies are designed to help sheet metal processors address rising production costs, shorter delivery requirements and shortages of skilled workers.
Automated laser cutting and bending
One of the main exhibits was an automated cutting cell combining the ByCut 3015 fibre laser with ByTrans Modular material handling, BySort part sorting and ByTower Cross storage.
The demonstrated laser system operates at 20 kW, with available power configurations ranging from 3 to 30 kW. It processes sheets measuring 3,000 × 1,500 mm and, depending on the application, materials up to 50 mm thick.
The integrated system automates sheet loading, cutting, unloading and sorting, allowing production to continue with reduced operator involvement.
Bystronic also introduced its Xpert Pro Midsize Bending Cell, designed for automated processing in medium-sized manufacturing facilities.
The system incorporates a 150-tonne press brake with a bending length of 2,050 mm and accommodates workpieces weighing up to 30 kg. Automated loading and unloading using up to eight Euro pallets supports extended production cycles.
Tube processing and digital manufacturing
For tube and profile processing, Bystronic showcased the compact ByTube Star 330. The laser cutting system handles diameters from 19 to 305 mm, optionally extending to 324 mm, and tube lengths of up to 12.2 metres.
Available with 6 or 10 kW laser power, the machine combines cutting with additional operations such as drilling, threading and marking.
The company also demonstrated its BySoft Suite, which connects production planning, costing, programming and manufacturing processes.
Alongside its machinery portfolio, Bystronic highlighted digital maintenance services, equipment upgrades and the myBystronic customer portal.
