German government supports start-ups at Gifa, Metec Thermprocess and Newcast

Young, innovative companies wishing to take part in Düsseldorf's leading world trade fairs for metallurgy from 12 to 16 June 2023 can now apply to Messe Düsseldorf for funding from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).

The funding offers newcomers ideal options to present themselves and their developments to a high-calibre trade audience from all over the world as part of a BMWK joint stand and to enter new international markets.

Basic requirements for participation are:

Establishment of the company within the last ten years
Number of employees below 50
Annual turnover of no more than 10 million EUR
Company headquarters and business operations are located in the FRG

The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) will cover up to 60 % of the stand costs (up to a total of 7,500 EUR). The young start-up scene can book exhibition stands of 6, 9 or 12 square metres. Within the BMWK pavilion, a lounge area offers the appropriate ambience for making international business contacts. In addition, each trade fair participation will be advertised on the German Pavilion internet portal for trade fairs abroad.

The BMWK joint stand is organised by Messe Düsseldorf. Together with AUMA (Association of the German Trade Fair Industry) and GTAI (Germany Trade and Invest GmbH), it offers participants trade fair and marketing know-how. This is supplemented by competent on-site support from Messe Düsseldorf staff, which makes it easier for the start-ups to exhibit at the fair. The system stands on offer are designed "made in Germany" and are thus clearly recognisable to the trade public.

Networking and experiencing the trade fair live are not only important for the start-up participations. As in the past, the exhibitor registrations for all four trade fairs so far indicate that international participation will be superlative. In addition to the international key players of the metallurgical industry, a strong medium-sized business sector is represented.
