KUKA supplies pioneering robot training center in Ireland

by David Fleschen

KUKA is supplying the Irish Louth & Meath Education and Training Board with a series of training robots for the new, state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (AMTCE). The center will be the largest vocational training facility of its kind in Europe.

AMTCE offers tailor-made training courses to qualify and retrain operators and technicians and is an important part of the "Industry 4.0 Strategy 2020-2025" program and the Irish government's COVID-19 reconstruction plan.

The order comprises a total of 31 robots and is in the single-digit million-euro range. The training facility includes customized 6-axis industrial robots with vision systems, robot welding cells, robot milling/machining cells and collaborative robot cells.

KUKA is the only robot manufacturer with a local presence in Ireland, with sales, customer service, application engineering and training on site. With this order, KUKA is strengthening its local commitment and further expanding its presence in the Irish market.
