ArcelorMittal has announced the appointment of Rainer Böse as the new Chief Executive Officer for its sites in Bremen and Eisenhüttenstadt. The supervisory boards of both locations confirmed the decision, with Böse assuming the role effective immediately. He succeeds Dr. Thomas Bünger.
At 57, Böse brings a long-standing track record within the company and deep expertise in the steel industry. A graduate in economics with a degree as Diplom-Ökonom, he has held various leadership roles at ArcelorMittal over the years. From 2017 until his recent appointment, he served as Chief Marketing Officer for the Northern Europe industrial segment, overseeing sales operations. Prior to that, between 2009 and 2016, he was Managing Director of ArcelorMittal Commercial Germany GmbH.
Böse is recognized for his extensive experience in sales, finance, and management, as well as his in-depth knowledge of the company and the flat steel market.
“We sincerely thank Dr. Bünger for his committed service to our organization,” said the management teams of ArcelorMittal Bremen and Eisenhüttenstadt. “We are pleased to have found a successor in Rainer Böse, who knows the company very well and brings a strong international network.”
Both the executive board and supervisory councils at the two sites extended their best wishes to Dr. Bünger for his future endeavors and to Rainer Böse in his new leadership role.
