Metso opens Digital Design and Development Studio in Krakow, Poland

Metso Corporation announced on September 17, 2024, the opening of its Digital Design and Development Studio in Krakow, Poland, as part of its continued investments in digitalization. The studio is designed to support the development and implementation of digital solutions that enhance customer value and address industry needs. Metso's digital strategy combines its expertise in equipment, processing, metallurgical, and material sciences with advanced digital capabilities.
According to Olivier Guyot, Senior Vice President for Minerals Digital at Metso, the new studio will focus on software development, data analysis, UX design, and artificial intelligence to expand the company's digital offerings. Currently, the Krakow office has approximately 50 digital experts, with plans for further expansion in the coming months. Overall, Metso has about 250 employees working on its digital solutions portfolio.
The company’s digital development for minerals processing focuses on three key areas: improving equipment performance through services such as remote condition monitoring and prescriptive maintenance, optimizing process performance for efficiency and sustainability, and enhancing business operations with AI and data-driven tools. The new Krakow studio will work closely with Metso’s global team to advance these efforts.
