Metso wins €30 million copper processing equipment order in Asia Pacific

Metso has secured an order worth more than €30 million to supply minerals processing equipment for a major emerging copper project in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Finnish technology group will provide equipment covering several key stages of the concentrator process, including grinding, flotation, thickening, filtration and material handling.

Most of the contract value was booked in Metso’s Minerals segment during the second quarter of 2026, with approximately €6 million recorded in third-quarter orders.

Grinding and flotation equipment included

The delivery will include Metso’s Premier semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) and ball mills, together with mill linings and spare parts. The company will also supply TankCell flotation cells, High Rate Thickeners, Larox filters and apron feeders.

Digital monitoring and process optimisation technology forms another part of the package. Metso will provide its MillSense, RockSense and FrothSense+ solutions, designed to support process control and improve the performance of mineral processing operations.

According to Tulloch, the contract also strengthens Metso’s position as a supplier of large-scale equipment and technology for copper concentrators.

Copper demand is increasingly linked to investment in electrification and energy infrastructure, making the expansion of mining and processing capacity an important part of the wider raw-material supply chain.

Metso will combine the equipment package with local technical expertise, lifecycle services and in-country aftermarket support.
