Pomini Tenova and Ingersoll partner to expand roll grinder modernization
by David Fleschen
Pomini Tenova and Ingersoll Machine Tools have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening revamping and modernization services for roll shop equipment across North America.
The agreement combines Pomini Tenova’s expertise as an OEM in roll grinders, engineering and digital solutions with Ingersoll’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and industrial footprint in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Combining engineering and manufacturing strengths
Under the partnership, Pomini Tenova will provide core technologies, including automation systems, HMI software, measuring devices, non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions and advanced diagnostics for machine monitoring.
Ingersoll Machine Tools will act as the regional manufacturing hub, leveraging its facility in Rockford, Illinois, to deliver high-precision machining, mechanical assembly and logistics. Its capabilities also include stress relieving, surface treatment and reverse engineering for legacy equipment.
This division of roles is designed to enable comprehensive modernization projects while improving efficiency and reducing downtime for customers.
Focus on lifecycle performance and sustainability
The partnership targets high-end revamping projects that extend equipment lifetime and enhance operational performance. By upgrading existing assets rather than replacing them, customers can improve productivity while reducing investment costs and environmental impact.
“By bringing our strengths together, we can deliver advanced revamping solutions that maximize performance, improve efficiency, and extend equipment’s life,” said Jeff Kimberly, President and CEO of Ingersoll Machine Tools.
Paolo Gaboardi, Executive Vice President at Pomini Tenova, emphasized the regional focus: “By combining our innovative digital technologies with Ingersoll’s manufacturing infrastructure, we are creating a unique value proposition that prioritizes both performance and sustainability.”
