Indian cement producer Ramco Cements has awarded Loesche a contract to supply a clinker and slag grinding plant for its Kalvatala cement works in the state of Andhra Pradesh, strengthening the site’s role within the group’s production network.
At the core of the installation will be a Loesche vertical roller mill with a rated capacity of 260 tonnes per hour (OPC). The scope of supply also includes an LDC dynamic classifier, Pronamic® wear parts, a rotary feeder and auxiliary equipment.
Ramco Cements has been using Loesche grinding technology for several years, including at its Ariyalur plant, and said the new installation will be designed to produce different cement products. According to the companies, the decision was influenced by operational experience with earlier projects and the possibility to standardise and interchange key components with existing Loesche-equipped grinding lines.
The new unit is expected to significantly increase grinding capacity at Kalvatala, which is one of Ramco’s key production sites. Loesche said delivery of the plant is scheduled for the second half of 2026, with commissioning planned for December 2026.
