SMS Group and Ansteel Group: MoU to promote green steel technologies

SMS Group and Ansteel Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on green steel technologies and decarbonization initiatives. The agreement aims to advance ecological production processes and improve efficiency, reaffirming the long-standing partnership between the two organizations.
The MoU was signed by representatives from Ansteel's Strategic Planning Department and Peter Langner, President and CEO of SMS Group China. Both companies have committed to focusing on carbon peak and neutrality goals, with an emphasis on developing innovative products, technologies, and projects to support the sustainable growth of the global steel industry.
During the signing ceremony, Tan Chengxu, Chairman and Party Secretary of Ansteel Group, highlighted the company’s dedication to ecological operations and low-carbon development. He acknowledged SMS Group’s expertise in future-oriented technologies and expressed enthusiasm for working together to explore and implement green steel solutions, aiming to contribute to global sustainability efforts.
Jochen Burg, CEO of SMS Group, expressed appreciation for Ansteel's continued collaboration and noted Ansteel's prominent position in the steel industry. He emphasized that the MoU marks a key milestone in SMS Group’s mission to foster sustainability and innovation in steel production. Both companies aim to deepen their partnership and develop new benchmarks for green steel manufacturing.
