tk accelis: ThyssenKrupp Materials Services unveils new name
by David Fleschen
ThyssenKrupp Materials Services has unveiled a new corporate identity and will operate under the name "tk accelis" with immediate effect. The rebranding reflects the company's transformation from a traditional materials distributor into a supply chain service provider and supports its planned path toward greater independence under ThyssenKrupp AG’s ACES 2030 strategy.
Focus on supply chain services
According to the company, the new name combines the concepts of “accelerate” and “access,” emphasizing both process efficiency and reliable access to materials and services.
Ilse Henne, CEO of tk accelis, said the new brand reflects the company's role in managing increasingly complex supply chains. “The new brand embodies what we stand for: speed, reliability, and seamless processes along global supply chains,” she said. “We want to accelerate our customers’ success by making supply chain networks their strongest assets.”
The company’s new purpose statement, “Moving industries – from source to success,” underlines its strategy of combining materials, services and digital solutions into an integrated offering.
Three business areas
tk accelis structures its activities around three core business segments:
- Materials covers distribution, international trading and value-added processing services, supported by a broad supplier network across Europe and North America.
- Processing includes customized steel and aluminum processing through service centers in Europe and North America, providing both manufacturing services and production-related data.
- Solutions encompasses logistics, supply chain management and digital services, including AI-supported tools designed to improve flexibility, transparency and resilience across supply chains.
The company describes this integrated model as “Materials-as-a-Service.”
Benefiting from growth sectors
tk accelis sees growth opportunities in trends such as nearshoring, outsourcing and digitalization. The company is particularly active in sectors including aerospace, data centers, industrial electrification and defense.
According to ThyssenKrupp AG’s segment reporting, the business generated sales of €3.2 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2025/26, up 5% year on year. Adjusted EBIT rose 179% to €81 million.
Preparing for greater independence
The rebranding is also intended to support preparations for capital market readiness as part of ThyssenKrupp AG’s broader transformation strategy.
“Our new name tk accelis supports our preparations towards capital market readiness,” Henne said. “With our new brand identity, we will be even more visible to our customers as a mill-independent partner and gain a distinct, independent profile.”
