Mexican special bar quality (SBQ) producer Tyasa has placed a new equipment order with Danieli Centro Maskin, expanding its investment in high-end bar processing at its Veracruz site. The latest contract includes a newly patented 60-tonne pinion/rack drawing bench for the production of high-quality steel bars.

This follows previous orders from Tyasa for a SBQ rolling mill, heat-treatment and bar finishing lines, and marks another step in the company’s drive to enhance its downstream capabilities.

The bar-to-bar drawing line will handle diameters from 18 to 65 mm, operating at speeds of up to 35 metres per minute. According to Danieli, the patented mechanical design and advanced process controls will significantly improve surface quality and operational efficiency. Noise levels are expected to drop by up to 50 decibels, while energy consumption will be reduced by as much as 30 percent.

The scope of supply includes a loading zone, shot-blasting unit, double-strand drawing bench, cut-to-length section, fully electric chamfering unit, non-destructive testing (NDT), and an automated packing and unloading area. Danieli Automation will integrate the system with advanced digital controls and a user-friendly interface to streamline operations and safety.

The equipment will be manufactured at Danieli facilities, with commissioning scheduled for mid-2026.
