Ulrike Brouzi appointed Chairwoman of Salzgitter AG Supervisory Board
by David Fleschen
The Supervisory Board of Salzgitter AG has elected Ulrike Brouzi as its new Chairwoman, effective immediately.
Brouzi has been a member of the company’s Supervisory Board since 2013. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Managing Directors of DZ BANK AG in Frankfurt, where she is responsible for finance and compliance.
Lower Saxony’s Finance Minister Gerald Heere, who also sits on Salzgitter’s Supervisory Board as a representative of the state — the company’s main shareholder — welcomed the appointment. He described Brouzi as an experienced financial expert with in-depth knowledge of the company, its structures and strategic direction.
The appointment follows the departure of Heinz-Gerhard Wente. During the transition period, Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Urban served as Deputy Chairman on an interim basis. The Supervisory Board and Executive Board thanked Urban for his contribution during this phase.
