by David Fleschen

Wuppermann Stahl GmbH has announced that Jasmin Niehof joined the company’s management team on 1 May 2025. She will assume responsibility for flat steel sales across the Wuppermann Group. Carl Swoboda will continue to oversee hot strip and zinc purchasing until his planned retirement on 31 October 2025. Following his departure, Niehof will additionally take on responsibility for procurement at Wuppermann Stahl GmbH. She will be based in Leverkusen and report directly to Oliver Rechtsprecher, spokesperson for the executive board of Wuppermann AG.
Niehof holds a degree in industrial engineering from the University of Duisburg-Essen and has spent nearly a decade in various roles at thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG in Duisburg. Most recently, she served as Head of Sales Development, Operations and Special Business in the company’s Sales Industry division and was also a member of the supervisory board at thyssenkrupp Steel Heavy Plate Antwerp N.V. in Belgium.
“I have spent my entire career in the steel industry and am looking forward to becoming part of Wuppermann,” Niehof said. “Joining a medium-sized family-owned company gives me the opportunity to apply my experience while also benefiting from the flexibility and agility of a smaller organization. Together with my new team, I aim to further strengthen our customer and supplier relationships.”
Oliver Rechtsprecher welcomed Niehof’s appointment, stating: “With her extensive experience in the steel industry, Jasmin Niehof brings valuable expertise to Wuppermann. We are particularly pleased that the close cooperation with her predecessor during the transition period will ensure a smooth and gradual handover of sales and procurement responsibilities, maintaining the continuity and reliability our customers and suppliers expect.”
Andreas Kersch will continue in his role as Head of Supply Chain Management and remain part of the Wuppermann Stahl GmbH management team.
