Zirkel Technologies targets DACH steel and metals distribution sector

Zirkel Technologies GmbH, an enterprise technology consulting and implementation specialist active in the mid-market since 2016, is strengthening its strategic focus on the steel and metals sector. The company is now specifically targeting stockholding steel distributors, steel service centres and downstream processing companies across the DACH region.

Headquartered in Frankfurt, with additional locations in Vienna, Zurich, Oakville, Riga and Noida (India), the IT service provider is positioning itself in a market segment facing increasing pressure from tightening margins, volatile freight rates and rising compliance requirements ranging from EN 10204 material certificates to CBAM reporting. These dynamics are driving demand for robust, integrated system landscapes.

Zirkel Technologies’ portfolio includes SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business One Production, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Data & AI solutions, as well as legacy modernisation and managed services. Unlike many ERP providers, the company positions itself as a vendor-neutral advisor, without formal ties to specific software vendors and without engaging in license sales.

“Selecting the right system for a trading company depends on operational factors such as transparency in processing workflows, processing depth, yield and scrap ratios, batch management, EN 10204 requirements and more — not on the commission structures of ERP vendors,” said Managing Director Kapil Gupta.

The move reflects a strategic decision to address the sector’s complexity. Steel and metals distribution combines demanding operational environments — from high-bay warehouses and remote-controlled magnetic cranes to full material traceability — with often fragmented, legacy IT landscapes. According to Zirkel Technologies, this creates significant potential for value creation through integration and digitalisation.

Key application areas include integrated inventory management, API-based system integration (e.g. via MuleSoft), and the integration of AI-driven solutions into ERP and supply chain processes.
