Düsseldorf – Padana Tubi & Profilati Acciaio ordered a new 16 ¾-inch tube welding line from SMS group. The new line will be installed at Padana´s Guastalla works in 2020. At the same location a 14-inch tube welding line from SMS group is already in operation.
London – One of China's largest steel producers recently awarded Primetals an order to optimize the processes of one of its continuous casters. This is Primetals´ 150th order in the last ten years alone for process automation systems (Level 2) in continuous casting.
Berlin – In May 2019 the modules PSImetals/Planning and Quality went live at PSI’s long-term Chinese customer MaSteel. The modules cover more than 50 production lines in five plant areas in the flat part of MaSteel’s production.
Frankfurt/Main – In May 2019, incoming orders in the mechanical engineering sector in Germany fell again by 7 percent in real terms. While domestic demand almost stagnated (minus 1 per cent), orders from abroad were 9 per cent below the previous year's relatively high level.
Kassel – Researchers at the University of Kassel have now succeeded in developing a smart steel that can also be produced cost-effectively in sufficiently large dimensions with good properties. This opens new avenues for use in the construction industry.
